Present Perfect Tense in Hindi

Definition in Hindi – जब किसी sentence से वर्तमान समय में या अभी-अभी कोई कार्य या घटना समाप्त होने का बोध हो तब ऐसे sentence में Present Perfect Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता है|

Present Perfect Tense Example sentences –

1. The sun has set. – सूरज अस्त हो गया है|
2. I have not seen her. – मैंने उसे नहीं देखा है|
3. What have you done? – तुमने किया किया है?
4. he has helped me occasionally. – उसने कभी कभी मेरी मदद की है|

Present Perfect Tense Structure

Affirmative

Subject + have / has + V₃ + Object.

Example sentences –

1. Your brother has slept. – तुम्हारा भाई सो चूका है|
2. He has forgotten us. – वह हमलोगों को भूल गया है|
3. You have abused me. – तुमने मुझे गाली दी है|
4. The sun has risen – सूरज उग चूका है|
5. I have seen her. – मैंने उसे देखा है|

Negative

Subject + have / has + not + V₃ + Object.

Example Sentences –

1. He has not helped me. – उसने मेरी मदद नहीं की है|
2. You have not done your work. – तुमने अपना काम नहीं किया है|
3. I have not abused anyone. – मैंने किसी को गाली नहीं दिया है|
4. We have not Seen the Taj Mahal. – हमलोगों ने ताजमहल नहीं देखा है|
5. We have not cut this tree. – हमने इस पेड़ को नहीं काटा है|

Interrogative

Have / Has + Subject + V₃ + Object + ?

Example Sentences –

1. Have they come here? – क्या वे लोग यहाँ आये है?
2. Have you done this work? – क्या तुमने यह काम किया है?
3. Has he vexed you? – क्या उसने तुमको तंग किया है?
4. Have you ever eaten biryani? – क्या तुमने कभी बिरयानी खाई है?
5. Has anyone seen God? – क्या किसी ने भगवान् को देखा है?

Interrogative + Negative

Have / Has + Subject + not + V₃ + Object + ?

Example sentences –

1. Have they not come here? – क्या वे लोग यहाँ नहीं आये है?
2. Have you not done this work? – क्या तुमने यह काम नहीं किया है?
3. Has he not vexed you? – क्या उसने तुमको तंग नहीं किया है?
4. Have you never eaten biryani? – क्या तुमने कभी बिरयानी नहीं खाई है?
5. Has no one seen God?- क्या किसी ने भगवान् को नहीं देखा है?

Wh-Question

Wh-words + have / has + Subject + V₃ + Object + ?

Example sentences –

1. What have you done? – तुमने क्या किया है?
2. Why have you helped me? – तुमने मेरी मदद क्यों की है?
3. Why has she saved your life? – उसने तुम्हारी जान क्यों बचाई है?
4. Where has she gone? – वह कहाँ गई है?
5. When have you come? – तुम कब आये हो?

Wh-questions + Negative

Wh-words + have / has + Subject + not + V₃ + Object + ?

Example sentences –

1. How has he not win this match? – वह कैसे यह मैच नहीं जीता है?
2. Why have you not thought this? – तुमने यह क्यों नहीं सोचा है?
3. Why has he not done this work? – उसने यह काम क्यों नहीं किया है?
4. Where have I not gone? – मै कहाँ नहीं गया हूँ?
5. Why has you not gone there? – तुम वहाँ क्यों नहीं गए हो?

Some Important Uses of Present Perfect Tense

• यदि किसी sentence में so far, lately, recently, just, already या yet का प्रयोग समय को बताने के लिए किया गया हो तो उस sentence का प्रयोग present perfect tense में किया जायेगा|
• जब yet का प्रयोग negative sentence में करना हो तो yet का प्रयोग sentence के अंत में किया जायेगा| example –
  1. He has no come yet.
• Just और already का प्रयोग present perfect tense के affirmative sentence में Helping verb और main verb के बिच में किया जाता है| example –
  1. I have just finished my work. ———- Correct
  2. I just have finished my work. ———- Incorrect
  3. He has already gone there. ———- Correct
  4. He already has gone there. ———- Incorrect
• जब बीते हुए कार्य का प्रभाव वर्तमान समय में हो तब present perfect tense का ही प्रयोग किया जाता है| example –
  1. We have not seen the Taj Mahal.
  2. I have visited Kashmir twice.
• Since / For का प्रयोग present perfect tense में भी किया जाता है, जब किसी sentence से यह पता चलता है की कोई कार्य जो भूतकाल में आरम्भ हुआ और वर्तमान काल में समाप्त हुआ हो| example –
  1. I have not been here for seven days.
  2. he has not ridden a bicycle since his childhood.
  3. We have not seen him for several days.

1. Ever – कभी
2. Never – कभी नहीं
3. Always – हमेशा
4. Occasionally – कभी-कभी
5. Often – प्रायः
6. Several times – अनेक बार
7. Already – पहले ही / पहले से ही
8. Yet – अभी तक
9. Just – अभी-अभी
10. Lately – हाल ही में
11. recently – हाल ही में
12. So far – जहाँ तक / अब तक
13. Up to now – अभी तक
14. Up to the present – वर्तमान समय तक
15. Once – एक बार
16. Twice – दो बार

Present perfect tense examples in Hindi to English translation

1. तुमने हमेशा मेरी मदद की है| – You have always helped me.
2. क्या तुमने कभी धुम्रपान किया है? – Have you ever smoked?
3. अभी तक मुझे कोई तकलीफ नहीं हुई है| – Up to now I have had no problem.
4. वह दस घंटो से सोया हुआ है| – He has slept for ten hours.
5. उसका भाई काल आया है| – His brother has come yesterday.
6. तुमलोगों ने हमलोगों के लिए क्यों कुछ नहीं किया है? – Why have you not done anything for us?
7. मैंने यह फिल्म पहले ही देख लिया है| – I have already seen this film.
8. मैंने उसको बहुत दिनों से नहीं देखा है| – I have not seen him for a long time.
9. वह अब साईकिल चलाना सिख गया है| – He has now learned to ride a bicycle.
10. हाल ही में उसने एक कार खरीदी है| – He has recently bought a car.
